Apple has achieved a major milestone in India by crossing $10 billion in annual sales for the financial year ending March 2026. This marks a sharp rise from $9 billion in the previous year and reflects strong demand for iPhones, iPads and MacBooks. India has now become one of Apple’s fastest growing markets globally, second only to the United States and China.

The company’s retail expansion has played a key role. Apple opened its flagship Mumbai store in February 2026, taking its official store count to six. Earlier, it had launched its online store in 2020 and physical outlets in Mumbai and Delhi in 2023. Premium resellers have also been added to strengthen its presence across major cities.

Pricing remains a challenge. The entry level iPhone 17 costs ₹82,900 in India compared with $799 in the United States. To attract buyers, Apple offers student discounts, trade in options and credit card rebates. Despite higher taxes and currency weakness, demand continues to grow among India’s expanding middle class.

Manufacturing has become central to Apple’s India strategy. Five factories now produce iPhones locally, with one in four iPhones worldwide made in India. Many of these units are exported to the United States. Chief Executive Tim Cook has described India as one of Apple’s fastest growing markets, vital for both sales and manufacturing.
