Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said India can grow at more than 10% if technology, innovation, and startups expand across all sectors. She explained that agriculture, industry, and services must adopt modern tools to raise productivity and efficiency.
She pointed out that startups have grown rapidly since 2015 and are now shaping new opportunities for jobs and investment. In agriculture, drones, geospatial mapping, and point of sale machines are being used to distribute fertilisers more effectively and reduce misuse. Sitharaman highlighted that such technology can transform rural areas and support farmers.
She also praised the success of digital payments. The Unified Payments Interface has become a global model and is now active in 11 countries. According to her, this shows India’s strength in creating systems that are trusted worldwide.
The minister urged citizens to adopt a positive mindset and avoid cynicism. She said that confidence and participation from the public are essential to reach ambitious growth targets.
She added that double‑digit growth will help India move faster towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 under the vision of Viksit Bharat. She stressed that Atmanirbhar Bharat and innovation will be the driving forces behind this journey.
