How Rs 2 Rakhi Becomes Rs 50: Shopkeeper Reveals Smart Selling Trick

As Raksha Bandhan is celebrated across India, a viral video has caught everyone’s attention, showing how a rakhi thread that costs just Rs 2 is sold for Rs 50 by clever shopkeepers. In the video, a wholesaler from Delhi’s famous Sadar Bazaar shares the simple trick: packaging is everything! He explains to a content creator that a plain rakhi, costing merely Rs 2, can be sold for Rs 10, Rs 20, or even Rs 50 and more if you simply change its packaging.

The shopkeeper demonstrates how putting the rakhi inside a fancy plastic card or a shiny box instantly boosts its value — buyers are easily convinced to pay a higher price just because of the attractive look. According to him, nobody hesitates to buy, proving that presentation matters a lot in business.

Social media has mixed reactions. Some netizens laugh and say it’s just business, while a few feel it’s a bit of cheating. Memes and comments explode — jokes about leaving IT jobs for rakhi selling fly around, and one user says smart women buyers still pay up for good packaging. Another points out that with packaging and transport, profit isn’t as big as it looks. Clearly, in India’s Rs 12,000 crore rakhi market, “Packaging is the king!”
