National Stock Exchange (NSE) reported a weaker performance for the second quarter, with key financial metrics showing a decline on a quarter-on-quarter basis. The exchange posted a net profit of ₹2,575.9 crore, down 17.4% from ₹3,120.1 crore reported in the previous quarter. The drop in profit reflects softer business performance and lower operating earnings during the period.
Revenue for the quarter stood at ₹4,066.8 crore, registering a decline of 10.8% compared to ₹4,560.4 crore in the previous quarter. The moderation in revenue indicates a slowdown in income generation across business segments during the quarter.
Operating performance also remained under pressure. EBITDA came in at ₹3,079 crore, down 13.3% from ₹3,550.93 crore reported in the previous quarter. The decline in EBITDA suggests that operating profitability weakened as earnings growth failed to keep pace with the previous quarter’s performance.
Meanwhile, EBITDA margin stood at 75.7%, compared with 77.86% in the previous quarter. The lower margin indicates some pressure on operational efficiency and profitability levels.
Despite the sequential decline, NSE continues to maintain strong profitability with healthy margins and substantial earnings. Investors are likely to track future business momentum, trading activity and revenue trends to assess whether the exchange can return to stronger growth in the coming quarters amid evolving market conditions.
