Tata Steel reported a healthy performance in the second quarter, supported by higher revenue and improved operating profitability. The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹3,666 crore, compared with ₹3,102 crore in the same period last year. The profit figure also came in above market estimates of around ₹3,100 crore, reflecting stronger-than-expected earnings during the quarter.
The company’s revenue from operations increased to ₹65,436 crore from ₹58,689 crore a year ago, showing steady growth across its business segments. The rise in revenue was supported by stable demand and improved business conditions in key markets.
Tata Steel’s EBITDA, a key measure of operating performance, rose to ₹10,533 crore from ₹8,897 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. This improvement highlights better operational efficiency and stronger earnings generation from core operations.
The company also reported an improvement in EBITDA margin, which increased to 16.10% from 15.16% in the year-ago period. The margin expansion indicates better cost management and improved profitability despite challenges in the global steel industry.
Overall, Tata Steel delivered a strong set of quarterly numbers with growth in revenue, profit and operating earnings. The better-than-expected profit and higher margins suggest that the company continues to strengthen its financial position while maintaining steady business momentum across markets.
