What are the latest ATM charges at HDFC Bank, SBI and others

Starting May 1, 2025, ATM withdrawal charges have increased across major banks in India. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set a new cap of ₹23 per transaction beyond free limits, up from ₹21 earlier.

Most banks continue to offer five free transactions at their own ATMs monthly. At other-bank ATMs, customers get three free transactions in metro cities and five in non-metro areas.

– HDFC Bank: Charges ₹23 plus taxes per withdrawal beyond free limits. Non-financial transactions remain free.

– SBI: Offers five free transactions at SBI ATMs and ten at other-bank ATMs. Charges ₹15 plus GST at SBI ATMs and ₹21 plus GST at others.

– ICICI Bank: Allows five free transactions. Post-limit, financial transactions cost ₹21, while non-financial ones cost ₹8.50 plus GST.

– IndusInd Bank: Charges ₹23 per withdrawal beyond free limits at non-IndusInd ATMs.

– PNB: Charges ₹23 per financial transaction and ₹11 per non-financial transaction beyond free limits.

These revised charges apply to all commercial banks, including regional rural banks and cooperative banks. Customers should check their bank’s policies to avoid unexpected fees.
