The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced UPI Circle, a groundbreaking feature on the BHIM app. This innovation allows users to delegate UPI access to trusted individuals, such as family members, without compromising security. Primary users can authorize up to five secondary users to initiate payments from their account. Each transaction requires real-time approval via the primary user’s UPI PIN, ensuring transparency and control.
UPI Circle promotes financial inclusion, benefiting senior citizens and young adults. For instance, senior citizens hesitant about digital payments can rely on family members to approve transactions securely. Similarly, parents can delegate controlled access to children for managing daily or educational expenses.
To use UPI Circle, download the latest BHIM app (Version 4.0.2). Navigate to the UPI Circle section, add secondary users by entering their UPI ID or scanning their QR code, and set delegation preferences. Secondary users can then initiate payments, which the primary user approves in real-time.
This feature empowers families to share financial responsibilities while maintaining security and oversight. Whether it’s assisting senior citizens or managing household expenses, UPI Circle simplifies payments and fosters trust within families.
