Coal India Limited has reported strong financial performance in its second quarter results, showcasing significant growth across key metrics. The company’s net profit rose sharply by 53% to ₹6,516 crore compared with ₹4,258.8 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue also registered healthy growth, climbing 20.9% to ₹44,179 crore against ₹36,553 crore a year earlier, reflecting robust demand and improved operational efficiency.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 28.9% to ₹8,499 crore from ₹6,593 crore, highlighting improved profitability. The EBITDA margin stood at 19.2%, slightly higher than 18% recorded in the previous year, indicating better cost management and stronger performance.

In addition to the earnings growth, Coal India has announced an interim dividend of ₹10.25 per equity share, underlining its commitment to rewarding shareholders. This dividend declaration reflects the company’s confidence in its financial stability and future outlook.

The results demonstrate Coal India’s ability to sustain profitability despite challenges in the sector. With rising demand for coal and continued focus on efficiency, the company remains well‑positioned to deliver consistent returns. Investors and stakeholders will view the dividend positively as it adds value alongside strong earnings growth.
