Kotak Mahindra Bank delivered a strong performance in its Q2 earnings, showcasing robust growth across key financial metrics. Net profit rose sharply by 29.5% to ₹4,212 crore compared to ₹3,253.3 crore in the same quarter last year, reflecting improved profitability. Net interest income also recorded healthy growth, climbing 15.7% to ₹8,459 crore against ₹7,311 crore a year ago, supported by better lending activity and interest margins.

Operating profit advanced 21.1% to ₹6,382.2 crore versus ₹5,268.3 crore last year, highlighting efficiency gains and stronger core operations. Provisions stood at ₹803.6 crore, higher than ₹668 crore in the previous quarter but lower than ₹947.4 crore in the year-ago period, indicating prudent risk management while maintaining profitability.

Asset quality showed notable improvement. Gross non-performing assets (GNPA) declined to 1.04% from 1.18% sequentially, while net non-performing assets (NNPA) eased to 0.24% from 0.27%. This reflects the bank’s continued focus on strengthening its loan book and reducing stress levels.

Overall, Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Q2 results underline its resilience and growth momentum, with strong profitability, rising income, and improving asset quality. The combination of higher earnings, controlled provisions, and healthier balance sheet positions the bank well for sustained performance in the coming quarters, reinforcing investor confidence in its long-term outlook.
