Foreign institutional investors have shifted strategy after two quarters of selling and returned strongly to Indian equities. Data shows FIIs reduced stakes in December 2025 and March 2026 but rebuilt positions in June 2026. This reversal was followed by net inflows of ₹11,045 crore in July and ₹13,123 crore in August, reflecting renewed confidence in midcap and smallcap companies.

Cupid Ltd was the biggest gainer, rising 730% in one year. FII stake fell to 1.01% in March but jumped to 4.17% in June. Sansera Engineering also attracted foreign interest, with holdings rising to 21.52% and wealth nearly tripling. Welspun Corp delivered 157.86% returns as FII stake increased to 14.61%. Avalon Technologies saw stake climb to 7.81% with 157% returns. Diamond Power Infrastructure gained 142% as stake rose to 1.77%. Happy Forgings delivered 131% returns with stake at 1.88%. Tourism Finance Corporation of India gained 110% with stake at 5.46%. Deccan Gold Mines doubled investor wealth with stake at 2.13%.

Analysts say FIIs are not broadly bullish but are selectively betting on growth companies with strong momentum. Retail investors are advised to remain cautious as valuations are high, though foreign inflows signal potential for sustained earnings growth.
