Blackstone, the world’s largest private equity firm, plans to double its investments in India to $100 billion over the next five years. The company has already invested $50 billion and now aims to expand strongly across real estate, digital infrastructure, healthcare, financial services, travel, and manufacturing.
President Jon Gray said India’s growing middle class, strong capital markets, and technology strengths make it a long‑term growth story. He added that India is now one of the easiest places after the United States to list companies. Blackstone has already completed 14 IPOs and sponsored five of India’s six real estate investment trusts.
The firm’s strategy is not just to acquire assets but to build and expand businesses. In real estate, it will focus on logistics, hotels, and shopping centres. In digital infrastructure, it plans to invest in AI‑driven data centres, cloud, and computing. Healthcare and finance are expected to benefit from rising demand among India’s expanding middle class.
Gray expressed confidence that the next century will belong to India, highlighting policy clarity and certainty for foreign investors. He said India remains a builder’s market where investors must create and scale businesses rather than only buy existing ones.
This ambitious plan signals stronger capital inflows into real estate, digital infrastructure, healthcare, and manufacturing, supporting India’s growth story.
