India’s corporate sector has begun FY27 with strong momentum. Five large‑cap companies have reported profit growth of more than 100% in the first quarter, showing resilience despite global cost pressures.

JSW Steel posted a 112% rise in net profit, reaching ₹46,900 crore. Higher steel prices and efficient operations supported this performance. The company is also expanding capacity through its partnership with Japan’s JFE Steel.

Eternal, earlier known as Zomato, reported a 174% jump in revenue to ₹205.9 billion. Net profit more than doubled, driven by strong food services and quick commerce. Restaurant procurement solutions added further strength.

Hindustan Zinc achieved record mined metal production and reported a 145% increase in net profit to ₹5,469 crore. Revenue grew 77% to ₹13,747 crore, supported by lower zinc costs.

Hitachi Energy India also delivered profit growth above 100%. Rising demand for power transmission and renewable energy projects boosted results. The company continues to focus on sustainable energy solutions.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited reported more than double profit compared to last year. Strong order inflows in power and infrastructure projects lifted its earnings.

These five companies, each valued above ₹1 lakh crore, underline the strength of India Inc. Their performance highlights opportunities for investors and signals long‑term growth in steel, energy, technology and commodities.
