Gold and silver recorded a strong rally in global markets today. Spot gold rose 4% to $4,243 per ounce, while silver gained 4.51% to $63 per ounce. The Bank of Korea ended its 13‑year pause on gold buying, announcing a new plan to purchase physical gold from domestic producers and expand investments in overseas spot gold ETFs.

This move lifted investor confidence and triggered sharp gains in precious metals. In India, the impact was visible on MCX. Silver per kilogram crossed ₹2,27,000 and gold per 10 grams climbed above ₹1,49,000. Traders linked the surge to renewed central bank demand and global inflation concerns.

Experts said the Bank of Korea’s step reflects a shift in reserve diversification, which may inspire other central banks. The rally underlined gold’s safe‑haven appeal and silver’s dual role as an industrial and investment metal. With inflationary pressures and geopolitical risks continuing, analysts expect strong demand for both metals.

The sharp rise has energized bullion markets and reinforced the view that precious metals remain vital hedges against uncertainty. Today’s rally stands out as one of the most significant moves in recent months, showing the renewed global appetite for gold and silver.
