In January 2025, 18 newly listed companies, including Bajaj Housing Finance, Waaree Energies, and Mobikwik, recorded significant declines in their stock prices, reaching new lows. This downturn coincided with a broader market correction, as the BSE IPO index fell by 11%, compared to a 2.6% drop in the BSE Sensex.

Several factors contributed to this decline, including economic uncertainty, rising interest rates, and geopolitical tensions. These elements created a challenging environment for newly listed stocks, leading to increased selling pressure and declining investor confidence. Other companies affected included DAM Capital Advisors and P N Gadgil Jewellers, which also saw notable drops in their share prices.

Despite the overall negative trend, some stocks demonstrated resilience. For instance, companies like MPS and Fairchem Organics managed to withstand the market pressures and maintain their performance.

The performance of these IPOs highlights the volatility and risks associated with newly listed companies in uncertain economic climates. Investors are advised to stay cautious and diversify their portfolios to mitigate potential losses. This period of market fluctuation underscores the importance of careful investment strategies and staying informed about market dynamics.
